SECURTIY AND PRIVACY

As we know today, the world is more connected than it has ever been. As a result of this, our personal privacy has been compromised. Many countries are putting more efforts to prevent and protect their country from being attacked. There are many pieces or documents that one can feel should be private. Personally, I feel your spending history or habits should be protected. For example, as shown in class, Major retail outlets printing coupons based on the items you purchased previously. In technical terms, this is still legal since there is no piece of information in the constitution that protects privacy. Is this an ethical business tactic? The answer for this question can be easily justified. One other form of privacy is the government being allowed to tap into your phone and listen to who you are talking to. This is clearly a violation of your privacy.

Through the inventions of social media, today your personal information is being used without your knowledge. There should be a line drawn to prevent corporations and major businesses from being allowed to use it for their benefit. As we know in today’s world, this is very difficult to enforce as there is no clear cut statement in the constitution that protects your privacy.
